Let's Learn About the Oceans
We are learning about oceans this week and i would like the students to go on this website and take this quizto see how much they already know.
I also would like the parents to look at this website Nnational Ocean Sevice (NOS) because NOS delivers the tools and services needed to understand, predict, and respond to the challenges we face along America's 95,000 miles of shoreline and 3.5 million square miles of coastal, Great Lakes, and deep-ocean waters.

Welcome back to a new week! Let's see how long it will take for another snow fall. This week we will be discussing ecosystems. An ecosystem consists of biotic and abiotic components. Components such as land, water, and air are not resources as much as they are the source of life. An ecosystem is generally an area within the natural environment in which physical (abiotic) factors of the environment, such as rocks and soil, function together along with interdependent (biotic) organisms, such as plants and animals, within the same habitat. Ecosystems can be permanent or temporary.
Check this out this site Earth Week lets you know the current significant environmental events that occur on Earth for the current week.
Biomes are similar to ecosystems, and are climatically and geographically defined areas of ecologically similar climatic conditions such as communities of plants, animals, and soil organisms, often referred to as ecosystems. Biomes are defined based on factors such as plant structures (such as trees, shrubs, and grasses), leaf types (such as broadleaf and needleleaf), plant spacing (forest, woodland, savanna), and climate.
